I played bass in the grindcore band Cause of Divorce, during 2010 and 2020. We operated somewhere between DIY ethics, blastbeats, and blown-out rehearsal amps. I played around 100 shows across Germany and neighboring countries, sharing stages with lots of underground acts. I paricipated in a couple of releases, some properly pressed, some handmade by myself.
It was loud, chaotic, and formative. We handled everything ourselves: booking, merch, recordings, design, promotion. I droped out of the band in 2020 due to personal reasons, but the memories and tinnitus remain.
